No Pretence, No BullSh*t
Bo Pretence, No Bullsh*t! – is the motto that Mongrel Creek Vineyard has built the vineyard and cellar door reputation on. Adhering to the belief that the vines and wines should always talk for themselves, its wines are the last thing the staff discuss during a tasting. To them, the story of your tasting is considered a more engaging conversation, but your thoughts on the wines during and after tasting are just as welcome. Wines, as with all other things, are a very personal preference and taste. For this reason, the team at Mongrel Creek Vineyard enthusiastically invites you to come taste and share your thoughts on each variety and style. While the range at Mongrel Creek Vineyard are small, each wine is fascinating and approachable. Producing both a stunning red and white sparkling, a sauv-blanc/semillon blend, a chenin-blanc/chardonnay blend, a rosé, a shiraz and a cabernet/sagrantino blend and a sagrantino, each one is as decadent as the sparklings. Majority of its wines are dry except for the sparkling red, which has a hint of sweetness, yet still dry for this style. The winery’s rustic cellar door is very appealing and different, with a modest collection of old, rare and antique memorabilia strewn about that contributes to its charm and ambience. At eight acres, Mongrel Creek Vineyard is one of the smallest producing cellar doors in the Margaret River wine region, with an annual crush of about seventeen tonnes. If you are ever in the region, come visit this little gem of country paradise.
