Situated in the heart of the Margaret River by the coast, Wayfinder Wines has a special aura that cannot be experienced elsewhere. Wayfinder Wines began its journey with the opportunity to become caretakers of an old vineyard, originally planted in 1994. In line with the winery’s strong focus on sustainability, the first step was to convert the land to Australian Certified Organic (ACO), a goal that was achieved in 2022. The property is surrounded by beautiful vineyard rows, fruit and vegetable plots, native forest and large dams. The winery is embraced by refreshing ocean breezes, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. At dawn and dusk, it is bathed in a unique, gentle light that inspires those who arrive early and depart late.

Wayfinder Wines produces six different wines a year including sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, cabernet franc, malbec, syrah and cabernet sauvignon. These wines are designed to pay homage to the region’s heritage, elegance and structure. Scoring 92-points for their 2023 chardonnay in the International Wine & Spirits Competition, Wayfinder has a profound accolade of success, receiving an honourable award in the James Halliday 2023 Chardonnay & Cabernet Challenge.

Spanning across 40 hectares, Wayfinder Wines are focused on taking an organic, sustainable, and regenerative approach to the vineyard, winery, surrounding native land, and local community. The company’s aim with all their wines is to hand-harvest the fruit relatively early and preserve the fragile aromatics, creating expressive wines that display a fine balance of varietal character, acid profile, sensitive oak treatment and great aging potential.

Travelling further north into the coastal town of Dunsborough lies the Wayfinder Cellar Door & Restaurant. The cellar door is the perfect place to taste Wayfinder’s organically grown boutique wines alongside sustainably focused wine from Australia and abroad. Here, you will also find its sister brands Swell Season and Small Wonder, all available for takeaway and mail delivery. Then venture into the restaurant where the food is simple but beautiful, full of fresh ingredients and flavour, offering pleasure without pretence. The farm-to-fork menu is designed by chef Felipe and is made to share, providing flexible entrée and main options.
