Lentedal Vineyard Estate

Lentedal Vineyard Estate, nestled in the picturesque Margaret River region, boasts natural beauty, fine wines and expansive landscapes, providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable winery experience. Founded by David Hann in 2009, the winery began with a cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay grafted onto forty-year-old Marybrook legacy vines. In 2010, David and his partner, Janet, planted their first vines, and by 2014, they produced their inaugural wines, marking the beginning of an inspiring legacy.

The Hanns have always envisioned creating quality, affordable wines, offering customers a humble yet lasting experience that truly embodies the essence of the vineyard. Specialising in traditional method sparkling wines, Lentedal Vineyard Estate produces six to eight unique wines each year, all nurtured across 10 hectares under-vine.

In addition to their exquisite wines, the winery also offers limited stock camel dairy products. Visitors are invited to engage with the estate’s vibrant atmosphere by joining the staff daily at 4pm to feed the charming farm animals, adding an interactive element to their visit. Lentedal Vineyard Estate is not just a winery, but rather a destination where guests can immerse themselves in the joys of nature and the art of winemaking.

In 2019, construction began on the cellar door at Lentedal Vineyard Estate, beautifully located near Busselton and Dunsborough. Designed to provide a unique, family-friendly experience, the cellar door showcases the spirit of mateship, thanks to the contributions of local contractors, friends and family who helped with the build. Officially opening in December 2020, it offers a welcoming space for visitors to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings. While adults indulge in exceptional wines and delectable food, children can also enjoy their winery experience by unwinding with a good movie.

What sets this winery apart as a unique destination is its inviting atmosphere for all ages, enhanced by extended hours on Friday and Saturday evenings. During the summer school holidays, the winery transforms into an outdoor cinema, allowing guests to savour warm nights under the stars while enjoying a film with a breathtaking view. This combination of relaxation, entertainment and stunning scenery makes Lentedal Vineyard Estate a must-visit destination in the Margaret River region, ensuring that every member of the family has a memorable experience. Whether you’re sipping wine or watching a movie, there’s something special for everyone at this charming winery.

Tasting Notes

Blanc De Blanc
⇐ Sparkling Blanc De Blanc

Handpicked in the cool of the early morning, this brut style sparkling has been crafted using only Lentedal’s premium grapes. Fermented in bottle and aged on lees for nine months, this elegant blanc de blanc is creamy and refreshing.

Chardonnay
⇐ 2023 Chardonnay

The 2023 Chardonnay has all the hallmarks of Margaret River class and is just another example of the top-quality fruit produced at the Lentedal vineyard. The palate is balanced and rich, complemented by a refreshing minerality and acidity. Toasty oak provides drive and length to an elegant finish. Enjoy now or let this wine age gracefully for another eight years.

Rose
⇐ Rosé

Made with Tempranillo grapes, Lentedal’s rosé is a beautiful pale salmon pink with peach highlights, boasting vibrant tropical fruits on the nose coupled with delicate floral notes of Tahitian lime zest and strawberries. The palate consists of delicate strawberries and a smooth acid line, coupled with a creamy edge of peach sherbet flowing through the front and mid-palate. This rosé entices with its moreish approachability and citrus vibrancy, leaving a delicate musk lolly perfume on the back palate.

Shiraz
⇐ 2022 Shiraz

This wine showcases the wonderful clonal diversity of shiraz at Lentedal, in the Waldron and 1654 clones. The 2022 vintage weather and growing conditions at the coastal vineyard has resulted in the shiraz having piercing ripe raspberry fruit aroma with secondary spice and plum characters. Sweet black fruits can be found on the front palate supported by silky tannins that lead to a smooth easy drinking finish. This wine is light in style but intensely flavoured.
