Windance Estate

Windance Estate is a second-generation winery established by Drew and Rosemary Brent-White in 1998. Currently in the capable hands of their daughter, Billie, and son-in-law Tyke Wheatley, Windance Estate is a Demeter-certified bio-dynamic winery that takes a holistic, carbon-friendly approach to farming.

Creating a self-sustainable healthy eco-system where vines flourish is the Windance teams’ primary goal, Tyke and Drew implement vineyard practices like cover-cropping, sheep grazing, compost production and applying biodynamic sprays, all of which build soil biology and diversity. Tyke is the viticulturalist and winemaker, and prefers a hands-on approach, nurturing each wine from vine to bottle. Together the team take a hands-on approach to every process that ultimately results in unique, quality and sophisticated wines.

The Windance cellar door overlooks the pristine vineyard and property dam. It is a friendly and relaxed wine tasting experience where visitors can enjoy a seated tasting with the option of a ‘build your own’ charcuterie platter whilst taking in the stunning property views.

With a combined total of thirty-three trophies and eighty-five gold medals, and located just five kilometres south of Yallingup Beach, Windance Estate is a must visit winery on your journey through the Margaret River region.

Nestled amongst peppermint and marri trees is Windance Estate’s north-facing Djilba Cottage. With views over its large front lawn, olive grove and chardonnay vines, you can relax and unwind on the farm surrounded by natural bush. Djilba features two air-conditioned king-sized bedrooms with their own attached en suites. With premium flax linen bedding and Vasse Virgin soaps, Djilba Cottage is ideal for two couples or a family of four to escape the city.

There is a full kitchen, dining and lounge area with plenty of windows to take in the morning and afternoon sunshine. In addition, there is an outdoor undercover dining area with a barbecue. Djilba has the comforts you need for your getaway.

Tasting Notes

Glen Valley Rosé
⇐ Glen Valley Rosé

Produced from its estate’s biodynamic grenache and shiraz, from the ‘free run’ juice, it is the most delicate and pure juice of the press. Gorgeous pink hues in the glass, with aromas of guava and strawberry. Juicy and flavoursome raspberries and guava on the palate, showing length and freshness.

Glen Valley Chardonnay
⇐ Glen Valley Chardonnay

Lifted aromas of zesty lemon, stone fruit and flint. A fleshy, bright chardonnay with plenty of power and length, with hints of white peach, citrus and a subtle creaminess. The fruit is the star of the show with the finest quality French oak, offering layers and depth.

Glen Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
⇐ Glen Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

One-hundred per cent certified biodynamic grapes from the Yallingup estate. Blackcurrant and mulberry on the nose with hints of cedar. A small amount of malbec was blended to add complexity to the palate. A medium-bodied wine offering redberries, blackcurrants and a hint of vanilla finishing long with a fine dusting of tannins.

Glen Valley Shiraz
⇐ Glen Valley Shiraz

Produced from its certified biodynamic estate, 94% shiraz and 6% malbec. Dark ruby red in colour, with aromas of mulberries, cassis, star anise and vanilla. The palate has a lively concentration of dark plums, black
forest fruits, dark chocolate and spice,
finishing with soft, silky tannins.
