Cape Naturaliste Vineyard
Cape Naturaliste Vineyard
Situated in a picturesque valley south of Cape Naturaliste, Cape Naturaliste Vineyard offers breathtaking views and a rich history, highlighted by a charming nineteenth-century stone inn that once served as a staging point for coaches travelling the Perth to Margaret River route. This newly renovated inn provides a delightful backdrop for the vineyard, enhancing its appeal. The valley’s maritime location and diverse soil types create ideal conditions for cultivating premium wine grapes. Embracing an organic and biodynamic philosophy, the winery focuses on producing high-quality, naturally crafted wines. Specialising in varieties such as sparkling shiraz, barrel-aged semillon and cabernet sauvignon, the winery produces nine distinct wines each year from its 8.1-hectares of under vine.
The winery’s dedication to excellence has not gone unnoticed, as it has garnered prestigious awards, including the London International Wine Fair Trophy for Best Red in 2011 and multiple gold medals at the International Wine & Spirits Competition and Decanter World Wine Awards for its Torpedo Rocks Reserve cabernet sauvignon 2018 and The Sextant 2018. Additionally, it has earned a five-star rating from James Halliday, solidifying its reputation as a premier vineyard.
Cape Naturaliste Vineyard prides itself on being a dog-friendly space, inviting visitors to bring their four-legged friends along for a unique winery experience. As committed animal lovers, the owners have been active supporters of SAFE (Saving Animals from Euthanasia) Busselton for more than fifteen years, emphasising their dedication to the warfare of animals.
Just like their owners, dogs are encouraged to explore the charming cellar door and the beautiful grounds, which date back to the 1860s, offering delightful surprises at every corner. The old stone milking shed has been thoughtfully transformed into the cellar door, providing a cosy atmosphere for relaxation and wine tastings. At Cape Naturaliste, every visiting dog is treated like royalty and even has the chance to be featured on the vineyard’s Wall of Fame, ensuring that both pets and owners enjoy a memorable experience in this welcoming and picturesque setting.
