Happy Anniversary to Mongrel Creek
This year marks Mongrel Creek’s 25th vintage anniversary. Starting with a small batch of semillon and an even smaller batch of shiraz in 2000, the winery has since grown onwards and upwards. For the first few years, the Mongrel Creek team made wine for themselves and to share with family and friends, selling any excess fruit. Production quickly increased and in 2005 the cellar door opened on weekends. This year, Mongrel Creek produced its first fortified wine and its largest batch of sparkling white and sparkling red to help celebrate the milestone. The winery also bottled a sauvignon blanc varietal for the first time since 2012.
