Knotting Hill Estate
Knotting Hill Estate
The striking cellar door peers over the 5.5-hectare lake, which has indoor and outdoor seatings. The entrance is from an unusual and spectacular arched forty-five-metre footbridge across the lake. Michael Gould and his father Brian established Knotting Hill from scratch, planting and training the vines, building the cellar door and dam, while simultaneously managing their wheat belt farm 250km north-east of Perth. A love of wine and all Margaret River has to offer swayed the family to make a sea change.
Their commitment of their extended family is best demonstrated each time they host a wedding or event. Michael and Sondra Gould receive phone calls from their parents, aunties and uncles, siblings and friends all offering to come help!
With forty-eight hectares under the vine and sixteen varieties of wine available, including cabernet, malbec, chardonnay, semillon and sauvignon blanc, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to what wine you’d like to try. As the cherry on top, “why knot” also pair your choice of wine with a meal from Knotting Hill Vineyard’s on-site restaurant.
A multi-award-winning winery that has earned praise and acclaim from Margaret River and beyond, Knotting Hill Vineyard offers elegant views across a wonderfully manicured lake. Beyond that are more of its vineyards, which – under summery weather conditions – emit an otherworldly beauty that take you beyond the mundanities of life.
Michael, his wife Sondra and their three children all live on the property, and you’re likely to meet at least one of them when you come and visit the winery. The family look forward to welcoming you to Knotting Hill Vineyard.
