Rockcliffe Wines
Rockcliffe Wines
A short drive from the scenic, coastal town of Denmark, Rockcliffe is a place where great wine, fabulous food and excellent company meet. Rockcliffe Winery has a rich history dating back to 1987 when the first vines of pinot and chardonnay were planted, marking the inception of what would become a pioneering endeavour in the district. In 2002 the vineyard was bought by Dr Steve Hall, who over the next five years upgraded the cellar door and created a new state-of-the-art winery. Today, Rockcliffe produces forty wines a year, ranging from sparkling, rose, chardonnay, pinot, mourvèdre, malbec and grenache. With 97 points awarded to their Nautica Range by Ray Jordan in 2024, Rockcliffe Winery has won more than its fair share of trophies and medals in wine shows, also receiving an honourable mention in James Haliday’s Wine Companion.
One of the few operational wineries in the region, Rockcliffe has 150 tanks which allows it to complete high quality small batch processing. Alongside producing its own wines, Rockcliffe also operate as a modern contract winery business, utilising state-of-the-art and sustainably friendly facilities.
Home to stunning, picturesque views, the 36-hectare property is an oasis of greenery. Along with the surrounding paddocks and forest, visitors are encouraged to explore the Rockcliffe Granite Garden featuring beautiful 4-billion-year-old rocks that make up the majority of Southern Western Australia, including Kalgoorlie.
The winery’s restaurant presents a unique and genuine culinary experience that cannot be matched elsewhere. It takes pride in crafting gourmet pizza and indulgent meat and cheese platters, whilst the traditional gelato and fudge are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth, made from locally sourced ingredients and no artificial flavours. Rockcliffe’s winery cellar door also offers an exclusive, leisurely wine tasting experience at no cost. Over December and January visitors can indulge in live music events, accompanied by remarkable food trucks, wine and beer.
